How much does Bard College Berlin cost for international students?
Bard College Berlin is a private university and charges tuition. Fees are set each year by the Board of Trustees of Bard College, and the same fees apply to all students, because the college makes no distinction between domestic and international students. Tuition is billed as an annual comprehensive fee: 27,500 EUR for students who live off campus, or 38,250 EUR including a furnished room on campus and a weekday meal plan.
On top of the comprehensive fee, every student pays the Semesterticket, a transit pass of 453.60 EUR per year that covers regional public transport across Germany, excluding ICE, IC and EC trains. A reader fee of 10 to 90 EUR per year is charged for course materials, depending on the courses taken.
| Item | Cost for international students |
|---|---|
| Bachelor, off-campus comprehensive fee | 27,500 EUR per year |
| Bachelor, on-campus comprehensive fee (incl. housing and meal plan) | 38,250 EUR per year |
| Semesterticket (everyone) | 453.60 EUR per year |
Figures for the 2026-27 academic year, revised annually.
Tuition fees do not replace the proof of funds. For the student visa you still need to show 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account, and that money has to be transferred months before the semester starts.
