How much does Bauhaus-Universität Weimar cost for international students?
There are no tuition fees for Bachelor's and consecutive Master's programmes, for EU and non-EU students alike. Two exceptions apply: postgraduate (continuing education) Master's programmes charge fees, and students who exceed the standard period of study by more than four semesters pay a long-term study fee of 500 EUR per semester.
Every student pays the semester contribution of 338.20 EUR per semester for winter 2026/27, of which 226.80 EUR is the Deutschlandsemesterticket for local and regional public transport across Germany. At first enrolment a one-time fee of 20 EUR for the thoska student ID card is added, so new students pay 358.20 EUR.
| Item | Cost for international students |
|---|---|
| Bachelor | No tuition fees |
| Master (consecutive) | No tuition fees |
| Long-term study fee | 500 EUR per semester |
| Semester contribution (everyone) | 338.20 EUR per semester, 358.20 EUR at first enrolment |
No tuition does not mean no proof of funds. For the student visa you still need to show 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account, and that money has to be transferred months before the semester starts.
