How much does Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences cost for international students?
H-BRS is a state university and charges no tuition, for EU and non-EU students alike; the semester contribution is usually the only fee. The exception is the continuing-education Master's programme International Media Studies (M.A.), which charges its own fees.
The semester contribution is 349.00 EUR for summer 2026, of which 208.80 EUR is the Deutschlandsemesterticket for local and regional transport across Germany. The rest goes to the Studierendenwerk Bonn, the student body and university sport.
| Item | Cost for international students |
|---|---|
| Bachelor | No tuition fees |
| Master (consecutive) | No tuition fees |
| Semester contribution (everyone) | 349.00 EUR per semester |
No tuition does not mean no proof of funds. For the student visa you still need to show 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account, and that money has to be transferred months before the semester starts.
What are the application deadlines?
| Degree | Intake | Deadline (non-EU) |
|---|---|---|
| Bachelor (e.g. International Business, B.Sc.) | Winter | 15 July |
| Marketing (M.Sc.) | Winter | 31 March |
For Master's programmes, non-EU nationals with a non-EU Bachelor's degree have an earlier deadline than EU applicants: in Marketing (M.Sc.) 31 March via uni-assist, against 15 July for EU/EEA applicants. Bachelor applicants with international certificates apply via uni-assist by 15 July. Other Master's programmes set their own deadlines, so check each programme's admission page before applying.
