How much does Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts cost for international students?

Hochschule Coburg is a public university, and most of its programmes are free. Since summer semester 2025, however, it charges tuition of 1,500 EUR per semester to students from outside the EU/EEA who newly enrol in six programmes, all of them English-taught: Automation and Robotics, Digital Business Models and Technologies, Electrical Engineering for Sustainable and Renewable Energy, Engineering Physics, Mechanical Engineering (all Bachelor's) and Autonomous Driving (Master's). Students with a German school-leaving qualification or a German Bachelor's degree are exempt, and other exemptions must be requested by 15 August for enrolment in a winter semester.

Every student also pays the semester fee, which includes a ticket for all city buses in Coburg and trains to Bamberg. The university does not publish an exact amount, so check it with the university before you enrol.

Tuition fees come on top of the proof of funds. For the student visa you still need to show 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account, and that money has to be transferred months before the semester starts.

How many programmes are taught in English?
