How much does Gera-Eisenach Cooperative State University cost for international students?
DHGE is a public university in Thuringia and charges no tuition fees, for EU and non-EU students alike; its page on semester contributions states that the contribution is not a tuition fee.
Every student pays a semester contribution, which differs by campus: 321.80 EUR in Gera, of which 226.80 EUR is the Deutschlandsemesterticket covering public transport across Germany, and 95.00 EUR in Eisenach, without a ticket.
| Item | Cost for international students |
|---|---|
| Bachelor (dual) | No tuition fees |
| Semester contribution, Gera campus | 321.80 EUR per semester |
| Semester contribution, Eisenach campus | 95.00 EUR per semester |
No tuition does not mean no proof of funds. For the student visa you still need to show 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account.
What are the application deadlines?
| Degree | Intake | Deadline |
|---|---|---|
| Dual Bachelor's (all programmes) | Winter only (1 October) | No fixed deadline |
DHGE publishes no application deadline. Places are allocated in the order in which signed training contracts with a practice partner arrive, and the same rule applies to all applicants. A training contract signed by you and the practice partner must be submitted with your application. If you need a visa, start looking for a partner company early.
How many programmes are taught in English?
None. All lectures, seminars and exams are in German, and DHGE strongly recommends German at C1 or higher. Its dual Bachelor's programmes are Betriebswirtschaft (both campuses), Elektrotechnik/Automatisierungstechnik, Praktische Informatik, Wirtschaftsinformatik and Soziale Arbeit (Gera), and Engineering, Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen Digitale Industrie and Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen Technischer Vertrieb (Eisenach). All require a training contract with a German partner company.
