A German student visa requires a degree programme that has to be studied in Germany, and programmes that can be completed online generally do not qualify (Administrative Court Berlin, 28 November 2025, 11 K 175/25). If you do come to Germany on a student visa for another programme, you need proof of funds of 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account.
What are the application deadlines?
| Degree | Intake | Deadline |
|---|---|---|
| Bachelor and MBA | Any time | No deadline |
Students choose their start date in the study contract, with a four-week trial phase; one rule applies to all applicants. Admission follows the general rules of the state of Brandenburg; the MBA requires a first degree and one year of work experience. Applications go through the university's online portal. The university does not publish how foreign school-leaving certificates or degrees are assessed, so ask its study advisory service (studienberatung@deutschehochschule.de) before applying.
How many programmes are taught in English?
None. No programme is listed as taught in English. The university offers six Bachelor's programmes and an MBA with eight specialisations; its website is in German only, and some MBA titles and modules are in English, but no page states English as the teaching language. Check the teaching language and any German requirement with the university before you apply.
