How much does University of Church Music of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart cost for international students?
The University of Church Music of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart charges no tuition for its Bachelor's and Master's programmes. It is run by the Catholic diocese rather than the state, and the Baden-Württemberg tuition fee for non-EU students applies only to the state's public universities.
| Item | Cost for international students |
|---|---|
| Bachelor of Music, Catholic Church Music | No tuition fees |
| Master's programmes | No tuition fees |
| Semester contribution (everyone) | 62.80 EUR per semester, paid to the Studierendenwerk |
The university pays the students' share of the regional naldo semester ticket itself, so it is not added to the contribution. The tuition information comes from the DAAD programme database, as the university's own pages do not mention tuition, so confirm with the university that no fees apply to you.
No tuition does not mean no proof of funds. For the student visa you still need to show 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account.
What are the application deadlines?
The deadline is for registering for the entrance examination; the dates are the same for all applicants. Admission requires passing the examination, which for the Bachelor's covers organ, liturgical organ playing, piano, choral conducting, singing and a written and oral music theory test. You hear the result about two to three weeks after the examination, and a passed examination stays valid for one study year.
| Degree | Intake | Deadline |
|---|---|---|
| Bachelor and Master | Winter (entrance examination usually in June) | 2 May |
| Bachelor and Master | Summer (entrance examination usually in late January) | 1 December |
Check the examination dates for your intake on the university's dates and registration page. If you need a visa, register for the earliest possible examination.
