How much does Hochschule Fresenius Heidelberg cost for international students?
Hochschule Fresenius is a private, state-recognised university and charges tuition per programme, paid monthly. At the Heidelberg campus, fees range from 545 EUR per month (Social Work) to 950 EUR per month (the English-taught International Business programme); most German-taught Bachelor's programmes, including the German International Business track, cost 750 EUR per month. A one-off registration fee of 695 EUR applies. Non-EU applicants pay a security deposit of 3,000 EUR, which is deducted from tuition in the final semester provided the student does not withdraw before the 3rd semester (Master) or the 5th semester (Bachelor). The university gives no validity year for these fees, so confirm them for your start date.
A semester contribution is also charged; Hochschule Fresenius does not publish the amount for Heidelberg, so ask the university.
| Item | Cost for international students |
|---|---|
| International Business with Specialisation in International Management (B.A., English) | 950 EUR per month |
| SAP Engineering & Analytics (M.Sc., English) | 880 EUR per month |
| German-taught Bachelor's programmes | 545 to 750 EUR per month |
| Registration fee (one-off) | 695 EUR |
| Security deposit, non-EU (deducted from tuition in the final semester) | 3,000 EUR |
Tuition fees come on top of the proof of funds. For the student visa you still need to show 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account, and that money has to be transferred months before the semester starts.
What are the application deadlines?
| Degree | Intake | Deadline |
|---|---|---|
| Bachelor and Master | Winter and summer | No fixed deadline; applications all year |
Hochschule Fresenius accepts applications at any time, with the same rule for all applicants, and does not use uni-assist. Applicants are invited to a personal admission interview. Some Master's and specialised programmes start only once a year. Non-EU applicants should apply several months before the planned start, because the visa can take several months.
How many programmes are taught in English?
Two programmes are taught fully in English at the Heidelberg campus:
- International Business with Specialisation in International Management (B.A.)
- SAP Engineering & Analytics (M.Sc.)
All other Heidelberg programmes are taught in German, including the German-language International Business track, which uses English increasingly over the course of the programme.
