How much does Geisenheim University cost for international students?
Geisenheim University's information page for international applicants states that, besides the semester fee, there are no tuition fees at the university.
Every student pays the semester contribution of 443.60 EUR for winter 2026/27. Of that, 226.80 EUR is the Deutschlandticket, which covers public transport across Germany; two Rhine ferry tickets are also included.
| Item | Cost for international students |
|---|---|
| Bachelor | No tuition fees |
| Master | No tuition fees |
| Semester contribution (everyone) | 443.60 EUR per semester (winter 2026/27) |
No tuition does not mean no proof of funds. For the student visa you still need to show 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account, and that money has to be transferred months before the semester starts.
What are the application deadlines?
| Degree | Intake | Deadline (non-EU) |
|---|---|---|
| Bachelor | Winter (October) | 1 September (no summer intake) |
| Master Landscape Architecture and Landscape Planning; Crop and Horticulture Science | Winter / Summer | 1 September / 1 March |
| Master Food Safety | Winter / Summer | 1 August / 15 February |
| Other programmes | See the programme page | See the programme page |
These are the dates for applicants with foreign qualifications, who apply through uni-assist. The university strongly recommends that non-EU applicants apply earlier to allow time for the visa. Other Master's programmes run through partner consortia with their own dates.
How many programmes are taught in English?
One programme, at Bachelor level:
- International Wine Business (B.Sc.)
The Vinifera EuroMaster (M.Sc.) is taught mainly in English by a European consortium, with its own fees and dates. All other programmes are taught in German.
