How much does Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts cost for international students?
Hochschule Hannover charges no tuition fees, for EU and non-EU students alike, as is the rule at public universities in Lower Saxony. Students who exceed their standard study period by more than the permitted allowance pay a long-term study fee of 500 EUR per semester.
Every student pays the semester contribution of 459.80 EUR for winter 2026/27 (427.80 EUR at the Ahlem campus): 130.00 EUR for the Studentenwerk (98.00 EUR in Ahlem), 28.00 EUR for the student body, 226.80 EUR for the Deutschland-Semesterticket and 75.00 EUR administration fee.

| Long-term study fee | 500 EUR per semester |
| Semester contribution (everyone) | 459.80 EUR per semester (427.80 EUR at Ahlem; winter 2026/27) |
No tuition does not mean no proof of funds. For the student visa you still need to show 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account, and that money has to be transferred months before the semester starts.
