How much does University of Applied Sciences for Social Work and Education (HSAP) cost for international students?
HSAP is a private university and charges a monthly tuition fee. No separate rate for non-EU students is published.
| Item | Cost for international students |
|---|---|
| B.A. Social Work (dual) | 275 EUR per month (1,650 EUR per semester) |
| M.A. School Social Work | 425 EUR per month |
| M.A. Inclusive Education | 425 EUR per month |
| Other Bachelor's programmes | See the programme page |
| Semester contribution, enrolment and examination fees | Charged on top; amounts not published, ask HSAP |
The fee pages give no year, so confirm the current amounts with HSAP.
A German student visa requires a full-time degree programme that you study in Germany. The dual Bachelor's depends on a German job contract, and the other programmes are part-time or online-based, so HSAP's programmes are generally not a route to a student visa. If you come to Germany on a student visa for another programme, you need proof of funds of 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account.
What are the application deadlines?
HSAP publishes no application deadline for any applicant, including non-EU applicants; applications are handled in the order they arrive. You apply with HSAP's own online form.
| Degree | Intake | Deadline (non-EU) |
|---|---|---|
| Bachelor and Master | See the programme page | No fixed deadline (applications in order of receipt) |
For the dual Bachelor's, you must show a contract with a practice partner for 20 to 24 hours a week on three days by the start of studies at the latest; HSAP does not arrange placements. Applicants without a German-language school certificate need German at C1 or TestDaF 5. Check the next start date with HSAP.
How many programmes are taught in English?
No programme at HSAP is taught in English; HSAP states that study is in German.
HSAP offers six degree programmes in German: dual Bachelor's programmes in Social Work and Childhood Education, part-time Bachelor's programmes in Social Work and Curative Education (with the Paritätische Akademie), and Master's programmes in School Social Work and Inclusive Education. None of them is a full-time campus programme, so none is suitable for a student visa.
About University of Applied Sciences for Social Work and Education (HSAP)
The University of Applied Sciences for Social Work and Education (Hochschule für Soziale Arbeit und Pädagogik, HSAP), formerly Hochschule für angewandte Pädagogik, is a private, state-recognised university of applied sciences in Berlin, founded in 2013. It offers dual, part-time and work-integrated programmes in social work, childhood education, curative education and school social work, some of them together with the Paritätische Akademie.
A German student visa normally requires a full-time degree programme with regular attendance. Because HSAP's programmes are dual with a German job contract, part-time or online-based, they are generally not suitable for applicants who need a student visa.
