How much does IST University of Applied Management cost for international students?
IST is a private, state-recognised distance-learning university and charges monthly tuition, which covers all fees. A Bachelor's degree costs 379 EUR per month full-time (13,644 EUR over 6 semesters) or 319 EUR per month part-time (15,312 EUR over 8 semesters); dual Bachelor's programmes cost 349 EUR per month and are usually paid by the employer. The MBA and the English-taught Master Exercise Science and Sports Nutrition cost 495 EUR per month full-time or 370 EUR part-time. There are no separate rates for non-EU students; applicants who go through uni-assist pay its 75 EUR fee on top. IST gives no validity year for these fees, so confirm them for your start date.
There is no semester contribution and no Deutschlandticket, since IST has no Studierendenwerk or student body contribution.

A German student visa requires a degree programme that has to be studied in Germany, and programmes that can be completed online generally do not qualify (Administrative Court Berlin, 28 November 2025, 11 K 175/25). If you do come to Germany on a student visa, you need proof of funds of 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account.

One set of dates applies to all applicants; individual Master's start dates are possible on request. Applicants with foreign certificates check them in anabin themselves, or go through a uni-assist VPD (processing 6 to 8 weeks) or ZAB; applicants from China, India, Vietnam and Mongolia need an APS certificate. German at B2 must be shown at the start of studies for German-taught programmes.

All Bachelor's programmes are taught in German, including those with English names; the MBA is taught in German with some English modules.
