How much does Leibniz University Hannover cost for international students?
Leibniz University Hannover charges no tuition fees for Bachelor's and Master's programmes, for EU and non-EU students alike, because Lower Saxony abolished general tuition fees in 2014. Students who exceed the standard period of study by more than six semesters pay a long-term fee of 500 EUR per semester.
Every student pays the semester contribution, which includes the Deutschland-Semesterticket for public transport across Germany.

What are the application deadlines?
| Degree | Intake | Deadline (non-EU) |
|---|---|---|
| Bachelor | Winter (October) | 15 April to 31 May |
| Bachelor, selected engineering programmes | Summer (April) | 1 December to 15 January |
| Master | Winter (October) | 15 April to 31 May |

Non-EU applicants have earlier deadlines than EU applicants (15 July for winter, 15 January for summer). You apply for a Bachelor's programme only through uni-assist (75 EUR for the first application, 30 EUR for each further one). For a Master's programme with a foreign degree you need a uni-assist VPD. The summer Bachelor's intake is only for Electrical Engineering and IT, Mechanical Engineering, Sustainable Engineering, and Production and Logistics. German-taught Bachelor's programmes need German at B1 to apply and C1 at enrolment. Applicants from China, India and Vietnam need an APS certificate.
