How much does Ludwigsburg University of Education cost for international students?
Ludwigsburg University of Education is a public university in Baden-Württemberg, where non-EU students pay a tuition fee of 1,500 EUR per semester under state law. Exemptions apply, for example for applicants with a German school-leaving qualification and for doctoral students. A second degree after a German degree costs 650 EUR per semester; since summer 2025 a second teacher-training degree is exempt. The English-taught International Education Management Master (INEMA) is a part-time continuing-education programme with its own fee of 2,200 EUR per semester.
Every student also pays the semester contribution of 198.50 EUR for winter 2026/27. It includes no transport ticket; a Deutschlandticket or regional VVS ticket can be bought separately.

|---|---|---|
| Bachelor Lehramt primary and special education, Childhood Education | Winter 2026/27 | 1 June to 15 July 2026 |
| Bachelor Lehramt secondary, European teacher training, Educational Science, Cultural and Media Education | Winter 2026/27 | 1 June to 15 September 2026 |

The university publishes one set of dates and no earlier date for international applicants. Applications go through the university's own online portal, and the university checks foreign qualifications itself; uni-assist is not used. German at C1 (for example DSH-2, TestDaF 4 or telc C1 Hochschule) must be submitted with the application, and international applicants book a subject advisory session before applying.
How many programmes are taught in English?
One programme is taught in English:
- International Education Management (M.A., INEMA; part-time blended learning with Helwan University in Cairo, two years of work experience required)
Because INEMA is part-time with short on-site phases, it is generally not suitable for a German student visa. All other programmes are taught in German.
