How much does Reutlingen University cost for international students?

Reutlingen University charges students from outside the EU and EEA a tuition fee of 1,500 EUR per semester, because Baden-Württemberg requires it at its public universities. Some non-EU students can be exempted, for example exchange students from partner universities, holders of a German university entrance qualification and holders of a settlement or permanent residence permit. EU and EEA students do not pay this fee. A few programmes charge their own programme fee.

ItemCost for international students
Bachelor (non-EU)1,500 EUR per semester
Master, consecutive (non-EU)1,500 EUR per semester
MBA International Management Full-Time10,500 EUR for the programme (3 × 3,500 EUR); ask ESB whether the non-EU fee is charged on top
BSc Digital Business, MSc Digital Business Engineering, MSc Global Management and Digital Competencies, MBA Part-TimeProgramme fee, amount on request from the university
Semester contribution (everyone)199.30 EUR per semester (104.80 EUR Studierendenwerk, 80 EUR administration, 14.50 EUR student body)

The semester contribution is the university's current figure; confirm it when you enrol. Unlike at most German universities, it does not include a public transport ticket.

Paying tuition does not replace the proof of funds. For the student visa you still need to show 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account, and that money has to be transferred months before the semester starts.

International Business (BSc) is the only programme with a separate, earlier deadline for non-EU applicants; every other programme has one date for all applicants. The earliest Master's date, 1 May, applies to the Canadian-German track of Global Management and Digital Competencies. Several programmes admit only in winter. The university's deadline overview carries no year, so confirm the date for your programme on its programme page, and apply early if you need a visa.

How many programmes are taught in English?

Four degree programmes are taught entirely in English:

  • International Business (BSc)
  • Digital Industrial Management and Engineering (MSc), a double degree with Stellenbosch University or Purdue University
  • Global Management and Digital Competencies (MSc), which starts at a partner business school in France, Ireland, Italy or Canada and finishes at ESB Business School in Reutlingen
  • International Management Full-Time (MBA)

Several other programmes, such as Biomedical Sciences (MSc) and Digital Business Engineering (MSc), are taught in German and English and are not counted here. All other programmes are taught in German.
