How much does Stralsund University of Applied Sciences cost for international students?

Stralsund is a state university in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and charges no tuition fees for Bachelor's and Master's programmes, for EU and non-EU students alike. This includes the English-taught International Innovation Management (M.A.).

What every student pays is the semester contribution, which is not a fee for teaching. Unlike at most German universities, it does not include a Deutschlandticket, so public transport has to be bought separately. The amount is set each semester, so it can change.

ItemCost for international students
Bachelor's and Master'sNo tuition fees
Semester contribution124 EUR per semester (110 EUR Studierendenwerk Greifswald + 10 EUR student body + 4 EUR re-registration fee)
Late re-registration17 EUR extra

No tuition does not mean no proof of funds. For the student visa you still need to show 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account, and that money has to be transferred months before the semester starts.

What are the application deadlines?

Non-EU applicants with foreign certificates have earlier deadlines than EU applicants, for all programmes. No programme has restricted admission.

DegreeIntakeDeadline (non-EU)
Bachelor's and Master's (all programmes)Winter31 May
Bachelor's and Master's (programmes with a summer intake)Summer30 November

EU applicants have until 31 August (winter) and 28 February (summer), so those later dates on the general application page do not apply to non-EU applicants. One of the university's FAQ pages gives 30 June for the non-EU winter deadline; apply by 31 May to be safe, and confirm the current date with the Student Advisory Service.

How many programmes are taught in English?

Five degree programmes are taught fully in English: one Bachelor's and four Master's.

LevelProgramme
Bachelor'sInternational Management Studies in the Baltic Sea Region (BMS), B.A.
Master'sInternational Innovation Management (INNO), M.A.
Master'sRenewable Energy and E-Mobility (REEMM)
Master'sSimulation and System Design
Master'sTourism Development Strategies, M.A. (2-semester variant)

International Innovation Management is taught more than half online, so check with the university that its format meets the requirements for a student visa. Leisure and Tourism Management (B.A.) is taught partly in English and requires German at C1, so it is not counted.
