How much does Technical University of Applied Sciences Bingen cost for international students?
TH Bingen charges no tuition for full-time Bachelor's and Master's programmes, for EU and non-EU students alike. The university states that only the semester contribution is payable and that there are no additional fees for international students. Work-integrated continuing-education programmes are the exception.
| Item | Cost for international students |
|---|---|
| Bachelor | No tuition fees |
| Master (full-time) | No tuition fees |
| Semester contribution (everyone, winter 2026/27) | 231.31 EUR (108 EUR Studierendenwerk Mainz, 123.31 EUR student body including 101.89 EUR for the semester ticket) |
The semester ticket covers regional public transport; it is not a Deutschlandticket. The amount is set each semester, so it changes.
No tuition does not mean no proof of funds. For the student visa you still need to show 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account.
What are the application deadlines?
You apply online in TH Bingen's inCampo portal. If your school or university certificates are from abroad, you first need a preliminary review documentation (VPD) from uni-assist issued specifically for TH Bingen, which takes six to eight weeks and is valid for one year; applicants with certificates from China, India or Vietnam also need an APS certificate. Programmes are open admission.
| Degree | Intake | Deadline |
|---|---|---|
| Bachelor and Master | Winter (October) | Usually 2 May to 31 August |
| Bachelor and Master (programmes with a summer intake) | Summer (March) | Mid-November to 15 March |
| Computer Science, M.Sc. (English) | Winter only | 1 June |
The winter dates come from a TH Bingen programme FAQ and the Computer Science date from DAAD, so confirm them on the programme page. Apply for your VPD early: the practical deadline is several weeks before the dates shown, especially if you also need a visa.
How many programmes are taught in English?
Three Master's programmes are taught in English:
- Computer Science (M.Sc.)
- Environmental Sustainability (M.Sc.)
- Sustainable Intensification of Agricultural Production Systems
No German certificate is needed for these English-taught Master's. All Bachelor's programmes and the other Master's programmes are taught in German and require proof of German.
