How much does Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg cost for international students?

THA charges no tuition fees for its regular Bachelor's and Master's programmes, for EU and non-EU students alike, because it is a public university funded by the state of Bavaria. Only part-time programmes for working students charge fees, and these are not suitable for a student visa.

ItemCost for international students
Bachelor's and Master'sNo tuition fees
Semester contribution181.95 EUR per semester (85 EUR Studierendenwerk + 96.95 EUR local semester ticket)

The semester ticket covers local public transport in the Augsburg area; it is not a Deutschlandticket, but students can upgrade to the Deutschlandticket for an extra monthly charge.

No tuition does not mean no proof of funds. For the student visa you still need to show 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account, and that money has to be transferred months before the semester starts.

What are the application deadlines?

THA publishes one date per programme, and it applies to all applicants. Deadlines are final. Applicants with a foreign certificate need a preliminary review documentation (VPD) from uni-assist or the Bavarian recognition office; for some programmes it can be submitted after the deadline, for example by 15 August for International Information Systems.
