How much does University of Applied Sciences for Sport and Management Potsdam cost for international students?
As a private university, FHSMP charges a monthly study fee, the same for EU and non-EU students. All Bachelor's programmes are dual, and FHSMP requires its practice partners to cover the fee; most partners also pay a training allowance, so Bachelor's students normally pay no fee themselves. FHSMP describes its fees as all-inclusive, with no additional costs and no increase during the standard period of study.
| Item | Cost for international students |
|---|---|
| Bachelor's, dual (sport science and management) | 499 EUR per month, usually paid by the practice partner |
| Bachelor's, dual (Health and Applied Therapy Sciences) | 250 EUR per month |
| Master's, Sport and Exercise Therapy | 550 EUR per month full-time / 450 EUR per month part-time (10% discount for FHSMP graduates) |
| Other Master's programmes | Ask FHSMP |
No separate semester contribution or Deutschlandticket is listed on FHSMP's programme pages; confirm with FHSMP whether any other fees apply.
The study fee is separate from the proof of funds. For the student visa you also need to show 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account, and that money has to be transferred months before the semester starts.
What are the application deadlines?
FHSMP publishes one set of dates for all applicants, with no separate non-EU deadline, and there is no summer intake. Bachelor's applicants need a practice partner to start: they apply to FHSMP directly and can find the partner afterwards with FHSMP's help, but large employers fill dual places up to six months before the start.
| Degree | Intake | Deadline |
|---|---|---|
| Bachelor's, dual (sport science and management) | Winter (1 October) | Usually 15 August (some programmes 31 July) |
| Bachelor's, dual (Health and Applied Therapy Sciences) | Winter (1 October) | 31 July |
| Master's, Sport and Exercise Therapy | Winter (1 October) | 15 September |
| Other Master's programmes | Winter | See the programme page |
For the therapy programme, applicants must also pass the selection procedure of the Recura Akademie. Because every Bachelor's programme needs a German practice partner and the Master's programmes are largely online, applicants who need a student visa should check with FHSMP and the German mission before applying.
How many programmes are taught in English?
No programme at FHSMP is taught in English; all Bachelor's and Master's programmes are taught in German. The German level required of degree applicants with foreign certificates is not published, so ask FHSMP's student advisory service (guest students need German at C1).
