How much does University of Church Music of the Protestant Church in Württemberg, Tübingen cost for international students?

The university's fee section lists no tuition fee, only the semester contribution. As a church-run institution it is not a state university, and its pages do not mention the 1,500 EUR per semester that Baden-Württemberg's state universities charge non-EU students; confirm with the university that no fee applies to you.

BachelorNo tuition fee listed
MasterNo tuition fee listed
Semester contribution (everyone)107.80 EUR per semester (since summer 2025)

The contribution goes to the Studierendenwerk Tübingen-Hohenheim and includes the base share of the regional naldo semester ticket; it does not include the Deutschlandticket. It is also due during semesters of leave. Confirm the amount for your semester with the university.

No tuition does not mean no proof of funds. For the student visa you still need to show 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account, and that money has to be transferred months before the semester starts.

What are the application deadlines?

The university publishes one set of dates for all applicants, not a separate non-EU deadline. The dates are the closing dates for applying to the entrance examination, which takes place on a single day. You apply directly to the university, not through uni-assist.

The university's study page gives 1 December for summer, while its admission regulations give 10 January, so apply by the earlier date and confirm with the Sekretariat. A passed examination stays valid for one year.

How many programmes are taught in English?

No programme at the university is taught in English. Applicants whose first language is not German need German at B2 level (Goethe-Institut Mittelstufe II or equivalent); if you have not reached B2 when you apply, send proof of your current level and the courses you plan.

Four full-time degree programmes are taught in German: the Bachelor's in Protestant Church Music (B, general or teaching profile) and in Popular Church Music (B), and the Master's in Protestant Church Music (A) and in Church Popular Music. A postgraduate artistic programme in organ is not counted here.
