How much does University of Europe for Applied Sciences cost for international students?
UE is a private university, so every programme charges tuition. It publishes starting prices under a current savings offer; the final price depends on the programme and your situation and is set in the study contract. Tuition includes enrolment, examination and thesis fees.
| Item | Cost for international students |
|---|---|
| Bachelor's | From 6,662 EUR per year (current offer); directories show around 13,325 EUR per year as the regular non-EU rate |
| Master's, 120 / 90 / 60 ECTS | From 8,158 / 8,341 / 9,263 EUR per year (current offer) |
| Dual Bachelor's (non-EU) | 690 EUR per month, usually paid by the practice partner |
| Reservation fee (non-EU, deducted from tuition) | 1,500 to 3,000 EUR, depending on the programme |
| Other fees listed by UE | Registration fee 490 EUR; technology fee 89 EUR per year; 250 EUR per semester for paying in instalments |
There is no semester contribution as at public universities, but a semester ticket for local transport is mandatory and charged on top of tuition; its price depends on the campus. Confirm all amounts with UE admissions before you sign.
The tuition fee comes on top of the proof of funds. For the student visa you still need to show 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account.
What are the application deadlines?
Applications go directly to UE online and are followed by an admission test or portfolio review. Applications can be submitted up to a year in advance; after the deadlines, remaining places are allocated through a waiting list.
| Degree | Intake | Deadline (non-EU) |
|---|---|---|
| Bachelor's | Winter | 1 September |
| Bachelor's | Summer | 5 February (EU applicants: 28 February) |
| Master's and MBA | Winter / summer | Usually 1 September / 5 February; some programmes close earlier, see the programme page |
UE itself advises applicants to allow for visa delays: a 1 September deadline is too late for most visa appointments, so non-EU applicants should apply several months earlier.
How many programmes are taught in English?
Most of UE's Bachelor's, Master's and MBA programmes are taught in English, around 42 in total, in business, sport and event management, psychology, art and design, and tech and software. Some programmes, including several dual programmes, are taught in German.
English-taught programmes require English at B2. Check the language of instruction and campus for your programme on its page, as programmes differ between Berlin, Hamburg, Iserlohn and Potsdam.
