How much does University of Hohenheim cost for international students?

The University of Hohenheim charges students from outside the EU and EEA tuition of 1,500 EUR per semester for Bachelor's, Master's and state examination programmes, because Baden-Württemberg state law sets this fee at all public universities in the state. It does not apply to students with a German school-leaving qualification, to doctoral students, or to people with an established residence connection to Germany, such as permanent residence permit holders and recognised refugees. Students who already hold a Bachelor's and a Master's degree pay a second-degree fee of 650 EUR per semester instead.

ItemCost for international students
Bachelor (non-EU)1,500 EUR per semester
Master (non-EU)1,500 EUR per semester
Second degree (after a Bachelor's and a Master's)650 EUR per semester
Semester contribution (everyone, winter 2026/27)174.50 EUR (80 EUR administrative fee, 79 EUR Studierendenwerk, 15.50 EUR student parliament)

Unlike at many German universities, the semester contribution does not include a semester ticket or the Deutschlandticket.

Tuition fees do not replace the proof of funds. For the student visa you still need to show 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account, on top of the 1,500 EUR per semester you pay the university.

What are the application deadlines?

Deadlines vary by programme; where a Master's programme has a separate non-EU date, it is shown here. You apply through the university's own portal, HohCampus, not through uni-assist; restricted-admission Bachelor's programmes also require registration on hochschulstart.de. All Bachelor's programmes are taught in German.
