How much does University of Kassel cost for international students?
The University of Kassel is a state university in Hesse and charges no tuition fees for Bachelor's and consecutive Master's programmes, for EU and non-EU students alike. Only its postgraduate continuing-education Master's programmes, run through the university's management school (UNIKIMS), charge their own fees.
Every student pays the semester contribution. For winter 2026/27 it is 409.27 EUR and includes the Deutschlandticket for travel across Germany. The amount is set each semester, so it can change.

What are the application deadlines?
Applicants with international certificates apply through uni-assist. Application periods run from 1 March to 15 July for the winter semester and from 1 September to 15 January for the summer semester.
| Degree | Intake | Deadline (international certificates) |

| International Food Business and Consumer Studies (M.Sc.) | Winter | Usually 1 March for non-EU applicants; confirm with the university |
| Studienkolleg (preparatory course) | Winter | 1 June |

Some programmes set different, sometimes earlier, dates, listed on each programme page.
