What every student pays, regardless of programme, is the semester contribution, and it is not a fee for teaching. Hochschule Bremen's own finance page describes the full combined total (AStA portion, Studierendenwerk social contribution, and a small administration fee) only loosely, as "a bit less than 380 EUR" for winter 2026/27.

No tuition does not mean no proof of funds: for the student visa you still need to show about 11,904 EUR for the year, usually in a blocked account, and that money has to be transferred months before the semester starts.

Hochschule Bremen does not set an earlier deadline for non-EU applicants: international applicants follow the same windows as applicants with a German university entrance qualification. Non-EU applicants should still start well before the deadline, since the preliminary document assessment (VPD) that uni-assist issues for a foreign qualification takes about four to six weeks and has to be in hand before the direct application to Hochschule Bremen can be submitted.

Hochschule Bremen's own English pages describe "over 60 state-recognised bachelor's and master's degree programmes" in total. mygermanuniversity.com lists 30 English-taught programmes out of a broader 77-programme catalogue on the same site. English-taught options concentrate in international business, management and engineering, and every Master's and MBA programme at the International Graduate Center is taught entirely in English. Most English-taught programmes sit at Master's level, though English-taught Bachelor's programmes exist too, particularly in international management. You can study the English-taught programmes without German, though everyday German still helps with housing, part-time work and the authorities.

Hochschule Bremen is one of Germany's larger universities of applied sciences and the second-largest academic institution in the state of Bremen. It was formed in 1982 from the merger of four earlier Bremen colleges covering technology, business, social pedagogy and social economy, and nautics. Its five faculties span international business, engineering and computer science, architecture and environmental engineering, and the social sciences, and most degree programmes build in a mandatory placement abroad or an international project.
